A differential won't make a difference!

4. A locking differential is used to prevent a single wheel from spinning freely.
It is NOT used as a theft deterrent.

When activated, locking differentials will drive both axles at the same speed which helps to prevent spinning of just one wheel. There are 3 main types of differentials: locking, limited slip and open.

A thorough description of all types of differentials can be found at Off-Road.com

Perhaps a car alarm is what you need to prevent theft. Also consider hidden ignition kill switches or steering wheel locking devices (like The Club).
