1. When off-roading, it is NOT good practice to go as far as possible in 2WD before engaging 4WD.

While there is nothing wrong with getting stuck, causing unnecessary wheel spin in 2WD results in unnecessary damage to the environment. For your own safety and for protection of the environment, it is best to engage 4WD (and low range if necessary) before tires begin to slip excessively in 2WD.
